Two talented Chapeltown Academy students are heading for success after winning through to secure top apprenticeship places in Law and International Shipping and worldwide logistics.
Alicia Hancock and Amie Greensmith have both been through a competitive interview and selection process to achieve their places.
Alicia made it through a highly competitive process involving assessment, interview and presentation to senior team leaders at Irwin Mitchell law firm. She prepared carefully with support from her teachers and practised her presentation until it was outstanding! Her intelligence and strong presentational skills impressed the Irwin Mitchell team and she was offered the role from a competitive field of 500 applicants.
Alicia plans to continue studying during the apprenticeship as Irwin Mitchell will pay for her to progress onto a law degree whilst learning at first hand what it is like to work in a busy law practice. Her plan is to eventually qualify as a solicitor so she is already on her way! Alicia wanted to say thank you to her teachers…
‘Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your help, especially with my presentation!’
Amie joins an International Shipping and Logistics company where her skills as an outstanding ambassador for Chapeltown Academy certainly helped her stand out as an accomplished applicant. She was able to explain how her ambassador duties developed her communications skills and confidence.
‘I was asked all about the role of ambassador; I explained how much I enjoyed meeting people and helping them including new students and parents; this really developed my people skills and confidence! I am sure this is what helped me at interview and I was thrilled when they offered me the place!’
Amie added, ‘My experiences at Chapeltown Academy have been amazing – the staff are incredible they will always go the extra mile to help you.’
Congratulations to Amie and Alicia – we are all absolutely thrilled with your success! Good luck for an exciting future!
